The Coalition for Independent Ratings Services

is a non-profit organization that promotes independent ratings services.  We believe is crucial that the groups rating the movies, TV, video games, etc are not the same ones who are trying to sell those products to you.  Since they don't have a financial interest in any particular product, independent ratings providers can be much more objective.


The goal of this site is to be a "one-stop shop" for everything related to independent ratings systems and services.

The Coalition for Independent Ratings Services is a non-profit organization that identifies resources for those who seek more effective tools for navigating the wide range of media content available through television, movies, video games, music and the Internet.

The Coalition's goals are to:

A. Provide a central resource for news related to independent ratings and other services that assist families and others who seek to identify media content that is appropriate for their children.

B. Serve as a forum for discussion and networking for organizations that provide independent ratings and other services and those interested in them.

C. Advocate on behalf of organizations that provide independent ratings and other services at the federal and state level
